Taken from a French dialect for “boutique,” Botiga is Europe's latest private retreats club. One of the new breeds of equity clubs, Botiga members actually own the homes in which they stay, allowing members to not only enjoy lavish luxury residences spanning the globe but also the underlying real estate appreciation. Featuring the highest valued properties in the European destination club market, Botiga members are allotted points to select from the collection of private residences, hotels and city apartments in the Botiga portfolio. Due to slumping real estate prices, Botiga has elected to delay their first wave of property acquisitions to capitalize on superior 2009 prices. Botiga expects to have homes available to members for fall of 2009.
